There are many ways to show your appreciation to others beyond a simple thank you. This month I’m sharing some ideas on other ways you can express your gratitude to those you care about.

A hand holding an orange circle labeled “Simple Gestures.” Below it, text reads “Lasting Impressions,” followed by ideas for showing gratitude: writing a specific note, surprising someone with a treat, helping with a chore, bragging about their accomplishments, donating to a nonprofit they support, and listening without judgment. At the bottom is a Thanksgiving message.

National Real Estate News

A line graph titled “ADP Jobs Added by Week – 4-Week Moving Average” charting weekly job gains and losses from August to mid-October 2025. The line fluctuates above and below zero, showing job losses early in August, rising to gains around mid-September, then declining again by mid-October.

Losing jobs again?

ADP, the giant payroll processor, has a new report that looks at weekly trends in hiring. The latest data (for 10/25) showed that private companies net LOST 11,250 jobs per week over the previous 4 weeks (that's -45,000 for the month). [Source: ADP]

A mortgage rate graphic showing the average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage at 6.24% as of November 13, 2025. Additional benchmarks include 6.78% one year ago, a previous peak of 7.79% on October 26, 2023, and a recent low of 6.11% on September 17, 2024. Fed's December decision

The gov't shutdown is over, but Fed members are still "in the dark" without October job growth or inflation (CPI) data from the

Bureau of Labor Statistics. Will they pay attention to the (frankly scary) recent jobs data from private sources like ADP and so cut rates again? Or decide to do nothing until they've got new, official data? [Source: Freddie Mac PMMS]

50-years of payments

Some government officials have mooted 50-yr mortgages as one potential way to help first-time buyers afford a home. And while a 50-yr mortgage could absolutely lower a borrower’s monthly mortgage bill (by spreading the payback over an additional 20 years), it could also DOUBLE the amount of interest a borrower pays over the life of the loan (relative to a 30-yr mortgage). Local Market Trends

Tucson’s market is doing its classic fall two-step right now: cooling weather, still-warm real estate. In October, our median sale price nudged up to $355,000, while overall sales dipped slightly compared to last year. Homes are taking a bit longer to move, with a median of 33 days on market, and buyers are negotiating about 2% under asking on average. New listings, though, are up almost 5% — which means more options for buyers and a little breathing room for everyone trying to make a move before the holidays. In short: steady, balanced, and still very Tucson.

As the desert cools down and our skin starts doing its best impression of a tumbleweed, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to some real skincare magic. This month I’m spotlighting Amanda Pederson, Owner & Founder of The Fern Grove Spa and a Licensed Aesthetician who just gets skin. She’ll size up exactly what yours needs and set you on the path to happier, healthier, younger-looking skin—whether that’s a facial, a wax, advanced treatments, or snagging some of her killer holiday gifts. And listen… after one facial with Amanda, my mom walked into the grocery store bare-faced, bought a bottle of wine, gave her birthdate, and the clerk told her, “You go girl!” If that’s not an endorsement, I don’t know what is.

As we slide into hoodie-in-the-morning, AC-by-lunch season, I just want to say thanks for being part of this wonderfully weird, beautifully connected Tucson community with me. Whether you're dreaming about a new place, settling deeper into the one you love, or just here for the food recs and cat gossip, I’m grateful you’re in my circle.

See you next month — same desert magic, new adventures.
