What to Do in Tucson This November

All Souls, Greek food, science fiction, and the month we remember

By Jennifer Winchester | November 2026 | Tucson Living

November.

This is the month Tucson does its most serious thinking. All Souls weekend opens it — 150,000 people walking two miles in the dark to carry their dead with them — and then the rest of the month unspools into Greek food, film, science fiction, 11,000 bicycles, and the holidays coming up fast behind.

The weather, meanwhile, is simply perfect. Go outside. Sit on a patio for three hours. You've earned it.

And a note before the list: Thanksgiving is on the 26th this year, which for some of you means a full house and for some of you means something more complicated. Chosen family counts. However you're spending it, I hope it's with people who are glad you're there.

Here's your November.

Cultural & Community Events

37th Annual All Souls Procession in Tucson

37th Annual All Souls Procession Weekend

November 6–8

If you do one thing this month, make it this.

All Souls isn't a parade and it isn't Día de los Muertos — it's Tucson's own thing, started in 1990 by a local artist grieving her father, and grown into a two-mile human-powered procession honoring our dead. No sponsors on floats. No performance for a crowd. Everyone walking is in it.

The 37th Annual Procession & Ceremony — Sunday, November 8 | Free
Gathering begins at 4 PM in Barrio Hollywood at Speedway and Grande. The Procession steps off at 6 PM and travels through Barrio Hollywood and Barrio Menlo to the Mercado District. Circo Domo at 7:30, and the Finale Ceremony at 8 PM — featuring Morgan Sorne, Flam Chen, Odaiko Sonora, and Circus Sanctuary — ending with the burning of the Urn. A free Vendor Village runs 4–10 PM in the Mercado District.

Dance of the Dead | MSA Annex, 267 S. Avenida del Convento
Three nights alongside the Procession. Friday the 6th, 6 PM — a cacao ceremony, soundbath, and SORNE ($30). Saturday the 7th, 7 PM to midnight — Flow for the Soul, All Souls Edition, with Sage Armstrong, a community dance party, local vendors, and LED and fire performances ($30 GA, $70 All Access). Sunday the 8th, 9 PM — the Official After Party with Petunia and the Vipers and DJ HERM ($15 GA, $70 All Access).

You don't need a costume. You don't need a plan. You don't need to have lost someone recently. You can stand on a curb and watch, or you can step off it and walk. Both are the right answer.

Transgender Day of Remembrance gathering in Tucson

Transgender Day of Remembrance

Friday, November 20  |  5–8 PM  |  Fourth Avenue Coalition Space, 311 E. 7th St., Tucson, AZ 85705  |  Free

November 20 is observed internationally as Transgender Day of Remembrance — a day to honor trans people who have been killed, and to name the violence that trans people, and especially trans women of color, continue to face.

Kindred Connections Collective is hosting Tucson's gathering: a free, family-friendly evening to celebrate, remember, and commit to the practical work of addressing transphobia. There's a resource fair run by community partners offering wellness, harm reduction, basic needs, and information, a space for QTBIPOC makers to sell locally made crafts and wellness items, and a keynote from a local trans community member on what this day means in their own life.

Free, open to everyone, and worth showing up for.

TusCon 53 science fiction fantasy and horror convention in Tucson

TusCon 53

November 13–15  |  DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Tucson Airport, 7051 S. Tucson Blvd.

The longest-running science fiction, fantasy, and horror convention in Arizona, and a genuinely warm one — smaller and more conversational than the big cons. This year's Author Guest of Honor is Rebecca Roanhorse, the Hugo and Nebula winner behind Trail of Lightning and Black Sun, which alone is worth the badge. Artist Guest of Honor is Galen Dara, Musical Guest of Honor is Tim Griffin, and Linda Addison is Toastmaster, with Fan Guests of Honor Jason and Deena Drotman.

Panels, gaming, vendors, and the kind of hallway conversations that are the actual point of a con.

Loft Film Fest at The Loft Cinema in Tucson

Loft Film Fest

November 11–19  |  The Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd.

Nine days, sixteenth year, and the only American festival member of the International Confederation of Art Houses. The Loft hand-picks festival favorites from Cannes, Sundance, and SXSW — independent, foreign, and classic cinema — and brings filmmakers in to talk about them. MovieMaker Magazine has it on their list of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world, which, for a nonprofit cinema on Speedway, is a genuine flex.

Nine days is a lot of movies. Pick three and go.

Live Music & Performances

DUSK X Music Festival 10th anniversary at Jacome Plaza

DUSK X — 10th Anniversary

November 13–14  |  Jácome Plaza, Downtown  |  All ages

Ten years of DUSK, and they're going big. Thirty-plus artists across the Alameda and Presidio stages, headlined by BigXthaPlug, Knock2, Fetty Wap, horsegiirL, and Phantogram, with The Aces, Sudan Archives, Ship Wrek and more filling out a lineup that refuses to stay in one genre.

But DUSK has never really been just a music festival. Tucson FEASTS brings in local restaurants, chefs, and food trucks. Vendor Village is all small and micro-businesses. Tucson ARTS commissions sculptures, lighting, and digital work from local students and professional artists. Tucson PLAYS has backyard games and arcade machines. It's downtown turned into a two-day block party that happens to have excellent music in it.

Two-day and single-day passes available.

Fraggle Rock Live at Fox Tucson Theatre

Fraggle Rock Live

Tuesday, November 24  |  7:30 PM  |  Fox Tucson Theatre  |  $41–$67 all in

Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley, and Boober, live on stage, in the actual Fox.

The Fraggles set off after the Celebration Stone — an ancient treasure that can bring everyone together for the greatest party of all time, shattered and lost generations ago. Written and directed by John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical), with walk-around Fraggles, puppet-sized Doozers, a giant Gorg, and new creatures all built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, plus the songs you still know by heart.

Built for families with first-time theater-goers and for Fraggle fans who remain young at heart. "Dance your cares away" is not a bad message for the week of Thanksgiving.

Food & Markets

Small Business Saturday in Tucson

Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 28

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, and the one shopping day I'll actually advocate for. Tucson's small businesses are the reason this city has a personality. Spend some of your holiday budget here instead of a warehouse in Ohio.

Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair at Gene C. Reid Park

Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair

Saturday, November 28, 9 AM–4 PM & Sunday, November 29, 9 AM–3 PM  |  Gene C. Reid Park, 920 S. Concert Place  |  Free

More than four decades of this one, and over 150 vendors from across the Southwest. Everything has to be unique and handmade — that's the rule, and it's why the quality holds up year after year. Free to attend, outdoors, in November weather. Park on the west side off Country Club.

Made in Tucson Market on Fourth Avenue

Made in Tucson Market

Sunday, November 29  |  Historic Fourth Avenue District

Run by the Historic Fourth Avenue Coalition — a volunteer group of neighbors, business owners, artists, and activists — and held just twice a year, spring and fall. It's a market, but the Coalition is clear that it's not really about commerce: proceeds go back into the neighborhood as murals, improvement grants for local businesses, and the community space at 311 E. 7th Street that hosts swaps, skill shares, and classes.

A celebration of the risk-takers and dream-makers of the Tucson maker movement, in their words. Worth the trip for the goods and worth it for what the money does afterward.

Outdoor & Nature Activities

Veterans Day fee-free day at Saguaro National Park

Veterans Day

Wednesday, November 11  |  Fee-free day at national parks

National parks waive entrance fees on Veterans Day in honor of those who have served. In the Tucson area that means Saguaro National Park's two districts (Eastside – Rincon Mountain District, and Westside – Tucson Mountain District), Tumacácori National Historical Park, and Casa Grande Ruins National Monument.

Good weather, no entrance fee, and a reason to be outside. Take it.

43rd El Tour de Tucson cycling event

43rd El Tour de Tucson

Saturday, November 21  |  Start/finish at the Tucson Convention Center

Around 11,000 cyclists, USA TODAY's pick for the country's top road cycling event, and more than $138 million raised for charity since 1983.

Routes for everyone: the Century (102 miles), Metric Century (62 miles, 9 AM start), Half Metric Century (32 miles, 10 AM start), plus a Family Fun Ride (3-mile and 1-mile, 8:15 AM) and a 5K Run/Walk. Everything starts and ends at the TCC, where there's a beer garden, food vendors, and the awards ceremony.

And if you're not riding: this is a great spectator event. Find a spot on the route, bring a chair, cheer for strangers. It's one of the nicest things this city does.

From Curious to Confident: Your Guide to Buying a Home

Free Workshop

From Curious to Confident
Your Guide to Buying a Home

Hosted by: Jennifer Winchester, REALTOR® – Realty Executives Arizona Territory

Co-Host: Ashleigh McGill, Loan Officer – Park Grove Lending

When: Tuesday, November 17th  |  6 PM

Where: Online via Zoom  |  1 Hour

Here's something most people don't know: November and December are quietly a good time to buy. Fewer buyers competing, sellers who are still on the market in the holidays tend to be motivated, and you get an unhurried look at a house instead of a weekend bidding war.

If you're thinking about 2027, now is when the groundwork happens. Join me and Ashleigh as we walk you through financial prep, what to actually expect during a transaction, and closing day tips — so you can feel informed and ready for your next steps, whether you're just exploring or ready to jump in.

This is a no-judgment, no-pressure zone. Ask the questions you've been embarrassed to Google. We've heard them all.

One Small Favor

If you made it all the way down here — first, thanks. That's a lot of scrolling.

Second, a genuine ask: if you find this guide useful, or if we've worked together and I did right by you, I'd be grateful if you'd leave me a Google review. Reviews are how people who don't know me yet decide whether to trust me with something as big as buying or selling a home. They matter more than you'd think, and they take about two minutes.

No pressure at all if it's not your thing. Either way, thanks for reading.

That's November. Walk in the Procession, eat something fried in honey, see a movie you've never heard of, cheer for a cyclist, and get outside while the weather's this absurdly good.
